Jetpilots 'Night of Nights'

Jetpilot Australia threw a little soiree for their key accounts...Needless to say the party was a complete success (you know how we do).  Heres a little synopsis from our 'Lads Down Und'a.

"The night consisted with the majority of the attendees checking out the modern headquarters of Jetpilot before being fed and offered one of the many beverages we had on offer from VB, McKenna Bourbon and Monster Energy, the first spectacle of the evening was the Browns Graffix 50cc Mini Bikes who held a demo in the JP warehouse, the boys had set up a drop in ramp off the top of the toilet block and proceeded to wow the crowd with their antics.

Our main event of the evening was the Yamaha Showtime FMX team featuring World Class riders Steve Mini, Matt Mcferran and Brad Burch along with Metal Mulisha Australia riders Cam Sinclair, Jackson Strong and Robbie Adelberg and special Guest 2009 X-Games gold medallist and Monster Energy rider Blake “Bilko” Williams who put on a private show that would rival any other for the lucky 300.

To keep the party rocking we booked emerging rock band The Foreign Objects who are currently on a national tour to promote their new EP Amongst ghosts, by the sea. This four piece from Port Macquarie on the NSW Mid North Coast brought back good old-fashioned rock to the crowd and they did not disappoint. DJ Darty kept the crowd grooving throughout the night also with some beats blasting from the Monster Energy DJ booth.

At the completion of the party everyone was bussed to the official after party venue; The Ruby Tramp Nightclub in Surfers Paradise, about 150 people made the journey into surfers to keep the party rolling into the early hours of the morning. The night was truly exceptional and has the whole industry buzzing."

Payin' Your FMX Dues Is Never Fun

Filed under fmx, Steve Mini, crusty tour, injury.

Some of this stuff is a bit GRAPHIC so if you have a weak stomach, don't read or look!

I was pretty happy ho things went in 2009. I won a major Australian comp and i won a major international comp and in between i did over 100 shows.

I was planning a big year for 2010. Id received an invite to the X Fighters Qualifier in Los Angeles in February which was a nice surprise, I was unsure whether or not to go because id had a pretty big christmas break and my riding wasn't exactly up to scratch. I decided to ride as much as i could for a few days and then decide.  My decision was made for me though after an afternoon ride at Matt Schubrings place, when I arrived feeling happy and motivated but left his place in the back of an

ambulance with a dislocated ankle and a compound fractured Tibia and a Fibula that was broken into 6 pieces.

Schuie's got some big jumps out at his place. One in particular is a 3rd gear step up where the face of the jump is about 5 metres high and vertical and you have to land on a small landing on top.  You can come up short but your bike will be destroyed. And if you go long you end up like me.  A few of the boys had jumped it and i was pretty confident. I'm usually pretty good at judging jumps, Burchy hit and came up really, really short. After that i over compensated and hit it too fast which bucked the back end up and threw me straight over the bars. All up i fell about 15 metres straight onto my right foot.

So 3 surgeries later i'm at home and have 10 weeks off to watch everyone enjoy the rest of the summer. As soon as i get back on i'll be getting ready for the nitro circus  tour which i'd strongly suggest everyone buys tickets for because it's

gonna be awesome.

"Hey my name's Steve Mini, I grew up in Mudgee in central west NSW where I lived on a farm and rode BMX. I got into dirt bikes when I was about 16, just after freestyle motocross had started.
I tried the tricks id learnt on a BMX on my motorbike and never looked back.

I've been riding for the Showtime Yamaha FMX Team since 03 and became a member of the Crusty Demons in 05.

This year has been a huge year with 2 Crusty Tours, 3 European trips so far and heap of Yamaha shows.
For the remainder of the year I want to do well in Europe and work on landing the first front flip on Australian soil."
